About Catium
The adele.help website is powered by Catium, a minimalist and sustainable static site generator.
A Historical Anecdote
The name “Catium” pays tribute to the physicist Marguerite Perey. It was the name she originally wanted to give to the chemical element she had just discovered: francium. She was discouraged from doing so because the pronunciation was too close to “cat” in English.
Philosophy and Design
Catium is not a rigid framework but rather an intellectual scaffolding. Its design is based on principles of sobriety and longevity: * Simplicity: Written in POSIX Shell, it uses the core tools of Unix systems. * Sustainability: Designed to require very little maintenance over time. * Sobriety: Very light on resources, generating only the strictly necessary code.
Catium and ADELE
The ADELE website served as a testing ground for bilingual management in Catium, making it possible to easily synchronize French and English versions while remaining accessible to non-technical contributors.
