Frequently Asked Questions

Is the ADELE Helpdesk’s support paid?

No. ADELE Helpdesk is a public service provided by partner institutions to support research. Our advice and first-level support are entirely free for research personnel.

Am I obliged to open all my research data?

No. The guiding principle is: “as open as possible, as closed as necessary”. Some data (sensitive, under industrial secret, health data) cannot or should not be disseminated. We help you identify what can be opened and what must remain protected.

Can you write my Data Management Plan (DMP) for me?

The ADELE team cannot write the scientific content of the DMP, which is your expertise. However, we provide models, review your drafts, and give you methodological advice to meet the funders’ requirements (ANR, Europe).

My project uses health data, can you help me?

Yes, we can direct you to the appropriate institutional circuits (DPO, ethics committees) and advise you on secure and approved storage solutions (HDS) for handling this sensitive data.

How do I know which repository to choose for my data?

The choice depends on your discipline and the type of data. Generally, we recommend the national repository Recherche Data Gouv, but if your community has a globally recognized repository (like Nakala for HSS), we will encourage you to use it.

Do you offer training?

Yes. ADELE regularly organizes practical workshops on data management, DMPs, or the use of specific tools. Check our Events section or contact us for a tailored team session.
